About Us
Masana wa Afrika is an Africa-based foundation that provides grants and
capacity-strengthening support to community-based organisations serving
children in Africa.
In 2023, Masana wa Afrika spun out of The ELMA Foundation’s Community
Grants Program (ECGP) which had invested in 154 African
community-based organisations between 2012 and 2022.
Masana wa Afrika means “the warmth of the sun embraces Africa” in Xitsonga.
Our Team
Masana wa Afrika's South Africa and Uganda based team has deep
knowledge, experience, and understanding of the context in which
community-based organisations operate.
